Conization of the cervix is an effective, minimally invasive method for treatment of the cervix, if during the examination the doctor has found chronic inflammation, extensive erosion, deformation of the cervix or dysplasia, which is a precancerous disease.

With the help of a special device, which is equipped with an electric loop, a conical fragment is cut from the cervix, which includes the tissue area damaged by the disease. The obtained tissue is sent for histological examination. A wound is formed at the site of the operation, which heals in an average of 3-4 weeks. The postoperative period usually does not require additional treatment and does not limit the ability to work. Further observation and treatment depends on the results of the tissue examination.
